Obese benefit claimants who are officially too fat to work have cost the taxpayer £80million under Labour. The number of people claiming incapacity benefit because they are obese has doubled since 1997 as ministers moved people off the dole queue and on to sickness benefit. The obese are £25 a week better off if they claim incapacity benefit rather than jobseeker's allowance.

The “obese” benefit ought to be £25 a week LESS; that way, they can’t afford food, they lose weight, and they can get back to work.

Does Me’Shelle know about this?? Maybe this is what started her new agenda. Fat people shouldn’t get ‘minority’ status, huh.

Tell that to the obese buggy-riders at Walmart who have baskets full of junk foods paid with Lone Star cards...(food stamps)

I agree with you!

Oh my! Sounds like the Brits need Michelle’s obesity program...maybe we should take up a collection to send her over.

There is something very stupid about that. But then the UK has such a long list of stupid things.

People who ogviously ride those store carts out of laziness rather than infirmity or injury royally piss me off. I wouldn’t last long if I worked there, probably get fired after I kicked the first lazy fat-ass off a scooter in order to leave it free for someone who might actually need it.

My 89 year old mother, who is not obese, walks with the assistance of a walker. She refuses to use one of those Wal-Mart "handicap carts" and relies on leaning on an ordinary shopping cart.

She's afraid people will think she is lazy. Her words, not mine.

I've noticed that people who are genuinely handicapped generally bring their own electric carts. Mom owns one but only uses it to take a ride around in the yard and tend to her flowers and once in a while ride down the drive way. To take it shopping with her is a task in itself, that she'd rather not mess with.
