Fellow federal employee here in SF—jealous of all your days off but not jealous of the heaps of snow. . .I was in DC just before all of this, and the 4 inches you got on Jan 30th seemed like a TON to this California girl! It was scary driving around, slipping on the ice. . .

Good luck to you guys as you dig out.

I think your federal employee coworkers nationwide should get some matching time off, so to be fair!

Olivia, we feds in Washington DC would gladly give up one of our four free days this week in exchange for a lot less snow.

The way conditions are here now, I predict we’ll get off Friday also. And of course Monday is the President’s Day holiday. So that will mean ten consecutive days of no work. And I really want to get back to work — I’m going stir crazy at home!

I heard for every day they are out they spend 100 million, but it beats every day they are working.

Money well spent, I say.

If they don’t get the streets cleared, it will be a fifth day — and then there will be no one back to work until next Tuesday.
