I hope that M-60 in the back yard has been demilitarized!!

I wish.

I am so tired of the constant survailence. I feel like a kindergartener. And I am also tired of the law and order types saying: if you have nothing to hide why cant they look. That isnt the point.

It doesn't appear that they've done mine yet, but they will get to it, I'm sure as it's a traditional neighborhood in a large metro area. I feel like it's an invasion of my privacy, too.

When I put my address in, it pegs the wrong house but pretty close, no mistaking it's the right street although it sure looks different from overhead and poor resolution.

I did find two houses I used to live in, one on the west coast then one on the east. So I did a couple screen captures and showed my children where we lived when they were too little to remember and before my last was born. Well, the one on the east coast was where my oldest was conceived :-). We were on the west coast by the time she was born, lived in 3 different places in quick succession, but the 3rd was the longest. We lived in the second two when my two daughters were born, respectively, their first homes.

I just found out, by doing a google search, that if you bring up the actual streetview of your hoouse, you can click the ‘report abuse’ button at the bottom of the photo of your house, and ask google to remove your house from their database. I just did this with my house, asking all views and angles to be removed from their database. We will see if this works?

They didn’t come down our street as the Redwood tree limbs would knock the camera off the vehicle. I go to Google Dirt whenever I read a crime report and the address is included in the story...

The Huffington Post is full or morons. This is funny, and they’re not the only people to do it. The Stig has also turned up on Streetview.

Thank you. We will see what comes of that as I don't want it.

Actually aerial photogaphy has been popular for some time going quite a ways back for rural areas; people would buy aerial photos of their farms.

But the first I heard of it was back in the 70's at the mall. It was an insulation company, and they had photos of peoples' houses, done thermally, to show how much heat was being lost.

Of course, I never contracted their services. I really don't think about all the cameras any more, shows how conditioned we get, and they keep putting up more, not as bad as London. Ir is a huge factor in solving a lot of crimes now that might not be solved otherwise or at least it's another tool. So I suppose one could argue that is sometimes a good thing.

But they're used to spy on employees, too. One camera for the customers, another for the cash registers. I guess I grew up in a time where people, in general, were more honest.

Younger people won't understand when we didn't have any of that kind of thing. Photographers and such, yes. Not surveillance cams for the general public at least.

Don’t be so paranoid. Your house looks great if it makes you feel any better.

It does work, I did this 2 months ago. My house is completely blacked out from all angles. I recommend that everyone do this. Google is afraid of class-action lawsuits, so they are covering their rears.

The satellite views do not bother me much, it is the street view photos.
