WASHINGTON DC, United States—Iranian users are having trouble accessing Gmail, Google said Wednesday following a newspaper report that Iran's telecoms agency had permanently suspended the Internet giant's email service.

"We have heard from users in Iran that they are having trouble accessing Gmail," Google said in a statement.

"We can confirm a sharp drop in traffic and we have looked at our own networks and found that they are working properly," the Mountain View, California-based company said.

"Whenever we encounter blocks in our services we try to resolve them as quickly as possible because we strongly believe that people everywhere should have the ability to communicate freely online," Google said.

I hate when they change the title.

It would also be a big help in Searching, if you’d use some keywords when you post an article

Thanks

I appreciate your frustration and our experiences differ.

I don’t waste time with Keyword anything on FR. I have found searches in that manner worthless. I just typed in Iran and let the system work.

This is the first step in Iran’s alleged big surprise, scheduled for February 11.

I am afraid it may be a plan for massive arrests and torture of Iranian dissidents.

Well, I always do a title search first, and if I think it’s something that may have been posted already, I do a keyword search. If the headline has been changed and the poster doesn’t use any keywords, it’s very difficult to do a search on the search engine.

I really don’t know. Could be something, could be nothing, could be ridiculous.

But the keyword is not “IRAN” ... it’s “IRANIAN”.

Some people do not know how to search.

Because Iran has shut down Gmail and allegedly will be providing their own Iranian g/e-mail services.

I heard on the radio earlier that they have already started rounding up protesters.

Why not Iran as a keyword? Just because you say so?

What about all the other goofy keywords FReepers are known for?
