I'm not sure where you got that information. But the internals of the poll cited give the following breakdown...

32% Democrat
26% Republican
39% Independant
3% Undeclared/Undecided

That's almost identical to every other poll I've seen. The fact of the matter is the Dems still enjoy a slight party ID advantage, although it's shrinking every month.
