My lovely wife had an abortion when she was 17 which haunts her to this day. We’ve been married ten years. She’s now 38. We don’t have any children which I believe intensifies her remorse.

I pray that she finds inner peace, knowing that the soul of her child forgives her for her past transgression.....precisely because of her remorse!

Your wife is not alone. There are millions of us out there, haunted by our previous actions. I hope she has received forgiveness for her actions, so that complete healing (although regret remains, of course) can take place.

Your local Christian pregnancy center will have post abortion programs.
Contrary to what the feminists say, what your wife is experiencing is very real. Every maternal instinct she had was violated by that abortion.
But there is help and healing available.
My wife ran such a center for a dozen years. One woman who attended post abortion counseling had her abortion 40 years before, and it still bothered her.
She doesn’t have to carry this albatross around her neck forever.
