There are still a lot of Catholics in RI so a candidate a little to the right of Brown can still do well imo, in fact Kennedy’s recent attacks on the Church didn’t serve him well.

I was in Providence the day after Scott Brown won the election, and several of the folks I was with were thrilled he won, and were wishing that someone like him would run against Patches. I’m sure they’re glad he decided not to run again.

I agree. I hope some good folks will consider it.

When the news first broke about the letter the Bishop had written, there were some Catholics interviewed who were sympathetic to Patrick, until they found out that it was HE who published the letter, NOT the Bishop. Folks had a change of mind after that, and his support started falling.
