Why not make it 98%?? Who made this survey, the University of East Anglia? Even Obama, the biggest liar of them all, would laugh at such numbers.

It may not be 75%, but I bet it’s a majority.

How many polled had prior military service??

“The poll was conducted by telephone Feb. 4-8 among a random national sample of 1,004 adults...”
How about polling the people it really affects - soldiers?

What does that even mean “serve openly”?

I’m not gay and I never served, my beret is off to anyone who volunteers to serve. ;(

Polls have always been liberally slanted, but it’s getting ridiculous now. Is there a “Poll Slanting Czar” in the White House now?

Ask those serving (not the Pampered Purple Princes at the Pentagon) and you’ll get a resounding NO! Those are the voices on this issue that count.

With the mass layoffs, cost cutting and everything, why waste manpower, time and money on polling, why not just skip the process and make up the desired results.
That is exactly what the MSM are doing...

So what? Just proves 3/4 of those in this survey are wrong. The majority of 08 voters voted for Barack and were wrong. Happens all the time the majority is wrong.
I don’t base right and wrong on what the majority says. The majority CAN be right, but just having more people be for something doesn’t automatically make it right.

Details Of Obama Openly Gay Military Released
WASHINGTON - pResident barack obama has directed the Pentagon to replace the "don't ask, don't tell" policy with one that will allow openly gay men and women to serve in the military.
Defense Secretary robert gates and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral mike mullen, will present details of the plan to U.S. lawmakers next Tuesday.
According to sources inside the Pentagon, changes to be implemented include:
- adding choreography to marching regimens
- equipping all dorms with double-wide bunks
- new fitted uniforms in seasonal color palettes
- installation of hot tubs.
In a potentially controversial move, the Pentagon will announce the formation of a new all-gay, all male company tentatively named "
69th Fighting Sodomites."
Sources credit the creation of the 69th to House member barney frank, who has reportedly been working "
vewy, vewy cwosewy" with gay Pentagon officials.
The all new squadron patch was unveiled at the presentation.

This is about the fourth or fifth poll I’ve seen recently that show a significant majority of people that think it’s okay for gays to serve openly in the military, but I still don’t buy it - especially not 75%. I think someone is cooking the numbers.

Who cares? Shouldn’t it be a vote of the active military? They are the ones that have to work with them and keep everything going.

At this very moment, according to the
U.S.National Debt Clock, the population of the United States of America is 308.672,437 citizens. Are they saying that 231,504,327.75 of those citizens support getting rid of 'Don't ask, don't tell'???
Where's my picture of oceanfront property for sale in Arizona?! If those numbers aren't a load of bull****, I'll eat my hat! >:-(

This is a problem with us on FreeRepublic. When a poll or story doesn’t allign with our view, we quickly claim bias. Why not just recognize that the public, as whole that don’t pay attention to issues like we do, go with the flow and need to be educated? No, this poll/story isn’t biased; the public are just uneducated. Denial doesn’t solve anything; recognizing that the public are misinformed what gays in the military will do and then educating them is the only way to solve the problem.

At one time a huge majority thought slavery and beating your wife was ok too. It means nothing to me. The military’s job is to defend us and kill bad people if they have to. Nothing should come before the mission. That used to be the slogan.
Forcing men to live and work together, when one of them likes to ram his thing in another man’s butt, is just stupid.

I served 5 years active duty USAF and 2 years Ohio ANG.
My vote is NO.
I’d bet my last nickel that all of the men I served with would vote NO too. That is 100%! I can’t believe the 75% number, unless 50% of those are queers. (I hate the usurpation of the otherwise nice word, “gay”.)

Pretty preposterous considering continuation or reinstatement of the policy will be a GOP campaign plank in 2010 and 2012.
