That's true, and an even bigger joke is Juan McCain's constant harping about "earmarks", which typically make up about $30 billion of the $3 trillion plus budget. There are some wasteful projects in that amount, but it's mostly a cheap applause line Juan likes to throw around while avoiding talking about entitlements and other programs where the real money is.
Exactly. While, I've railed against earmarks, my friends, for thirty years, while having no effect whatever. And he thinks this is a good talking point. With McCain, there really is no there there.
I could be delusional, but I believe a majority of Americans would eat beans to pay more taxes for a decade if it put the country back on track for future generations. But right now, I am doing everything plausibly legal to keep from paying any more than I must because I believe it is going to a losing cause.
