Meh, I tink we gonna see de fross down here maybe till de number two week of March. Don’ plant no tomatoes early like de las few years, cause de fross gonna burn dat fo sho dis year. You can’t even walk in de garden now witout hipboot de groun she so wet, so how you gonna till dat. Me, I gonna wait till the two week of March and see if it dry enough to work the ground, then I plant first week April, dat is Atchafalaya’s garden forecast.
My big problem is a doe and her two yearlings that have found/discovered my garden. They destroyed/consumed my okra, I was fortunate that they missed my tomato crop last year. They don’t like banana peppers or tabasco’s, but okra is apparently honey. I hope someone’s capped them this past hunting season. I live in a subdivision so I just can’t blast away at 3AM.
I live in a rural area (Thank the Lord)and keeping the outside cats fed is a problem. At night we have opossums, raccoons, skunks and deer scarfing down on the cat chow. My wife buys 3 bags of cat chow a week and the 3 cats probably account for just one bag.
Can't wait for dry warmer weather, haven't been able to play with the tractor for a couple of months now (Second childhood thing I guess, when you're young a toy tractor will do, when you're old you need a big diesel or they lock you up ;^).
