Communist Party Chairman, Sam Webb: "Obama State of the Union: He got the ball rolling"
Communist Party USA ^ | January 29, 2010 | Sam Webb (Chairman, Communist Party)

Posted on 02/15/2010 6:17:20 AM PST by ETL

Three separate quotes from the article...

"They [Republicans] had hoped to hear President Obama repeat what President Clinton said in his State of the Union address in 1994: "The era of big government is over." But the president disappointed them."

"We would probably have to go back to Franklin Roosevelt to find a president who has the trust of our nation's multi-racial, multi-national, male-female, young and old working class as President Obama does."

"This president can be a transformative leader (he has that potential in my view), but only if he embraces and fights for a transformative agenda."

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.

The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

A Landslide Mandate For Change

A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

Change is Here, Change is Coming

Sam Webb, National Chair, Communist Party, USA:

Let me begin with a simple observation: If the last 30 years were an era of reaction, then the coming decade could turn into an era of reform, even radical reform. Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed compared to the previous eight years.

In this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option and then going further in the years ahead.

We can visualize passing tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry, which brought the economy to ruin.

We can imagine the troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan while U.S. representatives participate in a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.

In the current political climate, the expansion of union rights becomes a real possibility.

Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment.

Isn’t it possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and other sectors of the economy in tandem with an attack on global warming?

Can’t we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?

And isn’t the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system – a system steeped in racism – no longer pie-in-the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?

All these things are within reach now!

Obama is pushing hard. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. He will use executive orders to get what he wants if congress cannot deliver.

As a politician, he is terrible. Either he's pushing for open revolution (which his side will lose) or else he thinks that the November elections can be salvaged if he just gets enough of his radical agenda forced through. The guy is an idiot.

Obama Espoused Radical Views in College [advocated communist revolution!]
Steve Malzberg - WOR News Talk Radio 710 ^ | February 12, 2010 | Ronald Kessler

Posted on Friday, February 12, 2010 7:33:56 PM by ETL

Dr. John C. Drew, a grant writing consultant in Laguna Niguel, Calif., tells Newsmax he met Obama in 1980 when Obama was a sophomore at Occidental College in Los Angeles. Drew had just graduated from Occidental and was attending graduate school at Cornell University.

During Christmas break, Drew says he was at Grauman-Boss’ home in Palo Alto when Obama came over with Mohammed Hasan Chandoo, his roommate from Pakistan.

“Barack [Obama] and Hasan showed up at the house in a BMW, and then we went to a restaurant together,” Drew says. “We had a nice meal, and then we came back to the house and smoked cigarettes and drank and argued politics.”

For the next several hours, they discussed Marxism.

He [Obama] was arguing a straightforward Marxist-Leninist class-struggle point of view, which anticipated that there would be a revolution of the working class, led by revolutionaries, who would overthrow the capitalist system and institute a new socialist government that would redistribute the wealth,” says Drew, who says he himself was then a Marxist.

The idea was basically that wealthy people were exploiting others,” Drew says. “That this was the secret of their wealth, that they weren’t paying others enough for their work, and they were using and taking advantage of other people. He was convinced that a revolution would take place, and it would be a good thing.”

Drew concluded that Obama thought of himself as “part of an intelligent, radical vanguard that was leading the way towards this revolution and towards this new society.” ..."

Referring to Obama’s quote from “Dreams of My Father” that he associated with Marxist professors, Drew says, “What he’s not saying is that he was in 100 percent total agreement with those Marxist professors. When you understand that, Obama’s later associations and policies make more sense, including why he was taken in by Rev. Wright’s ideology.”

Yeah, I am sure those innocent Japanese, German and Italian Americans that FDR inturned had his full trust.

Communists, intent on the destruction of America, are perfectly happy to take advantage of ignorant, useful idiots, who are in most ways, much more dangerous than open Communists.

Same as it ever was.....

You know the deal - when they say “multi-racial” they mean “black” and “hispanic”. In much the same way the Indians and Asians are excluded when discussing how minorities succeed or fail in school. They do it because including successes of minorities shows truth to the lie they try to pass off.

Of course, all this drivel was new to Barack Obama 30 years ago, and he was seduced by it, for the same exact reasons several previous generations were seduced by it. It has never been discredited enough in the marketplace OR the Universities for it to take its rightful place in the proverbial ash-heap of History. And Obama, through a great deal of subterfuge and misdirection, introduced it in heavy disguise to a whole new generation of pseudo-idealists who’d never heard any of it before either. THey are like the Barack Obama of 1980.

Useless Idiots. To the stupid, Communism sounds great. Until they are in it. It is the fairness syndrome. A mental disorder.

“The sheeple did not know they were voting for Communism.”

Another FReeper posted that this was inevitable sooner or later, due to 40 years of leftist indoctrination by the public schools. I concur.

Thanks for posting. Sam Webb is saying this lightweight-socialist isn’t socialist enough. Oh, he’s lightweight alright. Even voters that were conned by this con-man are waking up to that fact and are rejecting him in droves.

“Everything about socialism is sham and affectation.” - 23.11 Ch23 Evil; “Economic Harmonies”; Frederic Bastiat 1801-1850

Thanks for posting, ETL. Thanks for your work and your OUTSTANDING homepage.

Communist Party USA will say this about *anyone* who is to the right of Stalin, who they supported back in the day.
