It's no surprise that elitism and a pretentious point of view have a place on The Washington Post editorial page, but even this is a little much.
Pseudo-conservative columnist Kathleen Parker asserted that Trig Palin, the Down syndrome son of the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin might one day find his mother's abortions comments "hurtful." A Feb 14 column published in the Post focused on the delicate art of criticizing Palin's recent political and personal defense of the special-needs community, stemming from White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's controversial comments involving the word "retarded."
Parker recounted Palin's brief mention that she understands how women entertain the though of abortion when learning about the special needs of an unborn child. Instead of praise for Palin's honesty and candor, Parker seized the opportunity to criticize Palin's outspokenness and attempt to speak on behalf of her son.

We are going to have to do something about these assholes in the media.....they have no souls left to look too, as their concept of their self importance has blurred their vision of themselves...
Trig will feel proud that his Mom choose life.....
Parker: stop trying so hard to make others think you’re smarter than Sarah. You only sound painfully self-conscious and you’ll never reach Palin’s brilliance, let alone her looks.
The mind of a Down syndrome person will never think on that level—so Trig is protected from the venom of slithering, slimy media people whose lives are so cursed with envy that they don’t understand this basic fact.
I’ll spell it out for you so you don’t miss it: this vicious idea you’re cultivating will never have an effect on Trig, no matter how much it flourishes in the malice of the Washington media.
Parker’s Palin obsession is Andrew-Sullivan-creepy.

Parker was a complete unknown before she started getting noticed by bashing Sarah Palin. She will return to obscurity after November 2012, when she will no longer be useful to her Masters.
If this sick puppy has any daughters, I hope they turn out to be just like her. When parker is very old, things could turn out ugly. Just desserts.
Absolutely. Every time they try to trash Sarah it makes them look small and Sarah look even better. Enough with the arrogant & elitist attitude coming from the media. They are no smarter or better than the rest of us including Sarah Palin. I doubt seriously if Alaska would elect a complete fool as governor.
BTW, maybe Kathleen and the rest of her ilk don't get that when she lowers herself to trash Sarah that she is trashing the rest of us (and our families) who are just like Sarah!
Besides the fact that some of the so-called intellectuals elected a fool who can't pour *iss out of a boot much less run anything! "Intellectuals" are highly overrated!
I’m sure her parents wanted her to grow up smart and beautiful. What a disappointment!
