Not true. Had the people actually voted their preference, McClintock would have one. Conservatives fell suckers for "he can win," again. Even one-on-one, McClintock would have beaten Bustamante.

Sorry, but I disagree. Tom McClintock is a fine man and a true conservative but he had zero momentum going in to the election. My assessment of the situation led me to believe that Cruz Bustamante would have been elected and THAT would have been even more troubling.
