Here's another sign of the shifting political winds on global warming: ConocoPhillips (COP), BP (BP) and Caterpillar (CAT) have decided not to renew their membership in the U.S. Climate Action Partnership, a broad alliance of corporations and environmentalists supporting cap-and-trade legislation. House climate legislation and Senate proposals to date have disadvantaged the transportation sector and its consumers, left domestic refineries unfairly penalized versus international competition, and ignored the critical role that natural gas can play

They should have been smart enough not to play along in the first place!! Some times you have to do what it takes to survive, whether as a person or as a company. Those companies decided it was better to play along than disappear.

I agree they should be focused on thier survival but that includes opposing crap like this with every once of energy. “playing along” only means a short term advantage but an eventual slow death. Wake up corporate America. Stand up for capitalism or die.
