BP and CONOCO have finally realized that the fascist relationship that they were trying to build with the left is not going to work out. WA state is attempting to pass a new tax on oil refineries, allegedly to compensate for the pollution that consumers of petroleum products do to the water. BP had been acting as the industry spokesperson, kowtowing to the enviro nazis and the state, cooperating with regulations on everyone but themselves. Now, that global warming has been proven a fraud, and the relentless war against carbon is still pushing forward, BP and CONOCO are starting to fight.

I can’t. There is a big difference between going along because it the law and working to have the cap and tax created.
I understand they wanted to be in on the ground floor.How cynical. But they were wrong and should have known it.
Now if Duke Energy will belatedly wake up and feel the chill, maybe they can talk Lindsey Graham out of his green stupor.

You can fight and make what appear to be necessary preparations for other contingencies.
They were only involved to make sure they didn’t get totally screwed.
Don’t worry though - am sure GE and Goldman Sachs will pay up to keep the global warming propoganda flowing.

That better be one of the first laws repealed having to do with global warming.

Personally, I can’t sympathize with fascism and I do my best to avoid doing business with any company that crawls into bed with the government to try and lobby for MY cost of living to increase. I hope every one of them goes down in flames. I hope that the government they saw fit to team up with rips them apart with the same fascist tactics these companies wanted to use against the citizens of this country.

I think these companies probably worked the "send in the lobbiests and prepare for the worst" approach. I don't see what they did as any type of "sellout" whatsoever.
Do you own stock in any of these companies? I'm guessing you'd want them to figure out a way to protect your investment if you do.
Why is it that anything less than running all-out, screaming into an immovable brick wall is somehow less than patriotic to some folks? ...at least when judging the decisions of others.
I say fight smart and fight the right battles, else you'll be out of ammunition or even out of the fight entirely.

Do you go out and lobby for laws that you disagree with before they are even passed? Do you just figure that laws you disagree with are a foregone conclusion and crawl into bed with the government to make your position under those laws better than your fellow citizens, your country and those fellow citizens be damned?
If I owned stock in any of these corrupt companies, I'd have sold it the moment I saw their idiot leadership making the moronic mistake of trying to crawl into bed with the most fickle of bedfellows: GOVERNMENT.
