A Finnish justice ministry committee set up after a 2008 school shooting said in its report Wednesday that self-loading handguns should be banned and the age limit of other firearm licences raised to 20.
The committee added that the interior ministry should seize semiautomatic handguns, with owners offered compensation.

Yeah I’ll support that ban, I can’t stand my mis-behaving gun trying to load itself without my permission, Bad Gun!
Why not go to ramrod, black powder, ball and patch muzzle loaders, although you would have to outlaw mid 1800’s revolvers too.
Yeah, let’s go back to single-shot muzzle-loaders with bayonets. If you don’t take him down with powder and ball, RUN HIM THROUGH!

Personally I like revolvers, but I have never seen a self-loading weapon

Outlawing semiautomatic pistols won’t slow everyone down. Even outlawing double action revolvers wouldn’t do it. This video should be interesting for interested Fins.

“Self-loading” .... hey they got a new term proving the gun does it all. Next we’ll hear about “self-loading” and “self-aiming” with laser grips. (Geez, they can’t stick with “automatic” can they?)

That’s what I was thinking, Spike. Armed Finns inflicted more than 1 million casualties on the invading Russian army in the 1939 Winter War. It’s a classical war college study of how a small, lightly armed force can take on an army and inflict massive casualties. The Finns smoked the Ruskies. The Russian general commented that “We’ve taken just enough land to bury our dead.”
