Reminiscent of George Allen’s tenure as governor. He, too, told the EPA to stick it in their ear regarding an attempted government takeover of automobile emission inspection stations. Allen was successful in keeping them in private hands and at your local gas station.

In Florida, we got rid of them all together, maybe Virginia should take a hint. The emissions checks were of some minor value before virtually all vehicles were equipped with computer controlled fuel injection. If there is a problem with the system or one of its sensors, that little light comes on the dash to let you know it needs looking into.
