Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) lacks the votes to begin debating his targeted job bills, according to sources monitoring the legislation.

Reid needs 60 votes to open debate on the $15 billion jobs bill. The vote is scheduled for Monday, when lawmakers return from the Presidents Day recess.

“I understand Reid does not have the votes for cloture on Monday on his jobs bill,” one source said.

A Reid spokesman said the vote is in the hands of Republicans. Democrats have 59 senators in their conference.

Here we go. They’re gonna blame Republicans for killing the jobs bill in November. Pubbies should insist O spends the first stimulus before coming back for more money.

Haha. Adrift until November — then we can start righting the ship.

... and so dies the liberal “revolution” of The One.

But, but, but.... I thought the first stimulus or jobs bill prevented a second depression.

Incredible how some Americans believe we need a “jobs bill”! Since when can the government create jobs!? It’s like it’s 1933 all over again!

Civilian Conservation Corps CCC 1933 Sent 250,000 young men to work camps to perform reforestation and conservation tasks.

I say vote to open debate. They still have to get 60 to end debate. The republicans can use their time to point out the hundreds of billions in unspent TARP and unspent Porkulus and question the need for additional funds.

Harry has an urgent call in to Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins. He wants to know if Maine could use an extra 300 million in exchange for one of their votes.

Oh, don’t worry — there’s always Executive Order. How do you think they’re going to get health care passed and cap and trade. Big sillies! There’s more than one way to skin a cat.

Can I now say, officially, that BO is Jimmy Carter Part II. Maybe even worst. At least Jimmy Caster is a nice man, just didn’t know how to lead a nation.

The vote is scheduled for Monday, when lawmakers return from the Presidents Day recess.

It is not surprising to hear that the same people that have spent us into trillion+ deficits take a week off to celebrate Presidents Day.
