On January 15, 2010, Holm died from pneumonia in both lungs. She was survived by her longtime friend Doctor Lieutenant Colonel Norma Loeser, USAF (Retired), and by members of her family including her niece Kalynne Holm. Arrangements are being made to bury Holm at Arlington National Cemetery.
