No.

Eight years of incessant MSM lies (a lot about Iraq, which we were winning), McCain's being a horrible candidate who campaigned against Bush, not Obama, a slobbering, lying media who hid the truth about Obama, a financial crisis brought on by the Dems and dithered by McCain, white guilt, American Idol voters, intensely stupid voters, millions of illegal overseas dollars.

THOSE were the reasons we got Obama. But not the topic of the thread, so my last post on the subject (hopefully. :)

Unfortunately, your hero GWB did indeed contribute to the rise of 0bama, and he did that by generally REFUSING to defend himself, his administration's policies, he allowed his political adversaries to set the agenda and to paint the most unfavorable picture possible, which the public gobbled up without question.

When a politician allows his enemies to define him/her, he is already sunk. George W. Bush never got over his aspirations to "change the tone" in Washington which was just another way of saying what McCain does all the time about "reaching across the aisle", Bush was no conservative and he admitted that when he stated that there "was no conservative movement" and that he had "redefined the Republican Party".

George W. Bush should have been out on the campaign trail and saying something like this:

"the junior Senator from Illinois has never held a job in the private sector, he has associated with Communists, terrorists and those who would tear down America and he makes no apologies for that, his entire philosophy is based on Marxist teachings, freely admitted in his own autobiography, he has even less experience than Jimmy Carter did before he assumed the Presidency in 1977 and we all remember all THAT turned out, now don't we?"

George W. Bush could have at least TRIED, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it, and we could see the handwriting on the wall in 2006 after he and his strategic 'genius' (har har) Karl Rove managed to lose BOTH the House and the Senate.

Nice work George. Nice job Karl.

Thanks for nothing.
