Absolutely not. In fact, the leaked emails exposed their intentional destruction of information that was being demanded under the (British) Freedom of Information Act.
But it was not likely "a hacker" but an inside job.
No, the e-mails were either leaked or hacked. In fact, the e-mails contained details on how the FOI was being thwarted.
