The woman who was at the center of the phony Duke lacrosse rape case was arrested today and charged with attempted murder.
The Durham Police Department told ABC News that Crystal Gale Mangum got into an argument with her boyfriend, Milton Walker, shortly after midnight on Thursday.
The arrest warrant claims that Mangum, 33, scratched, punched and threw objects at Walker before taking all of his clothes and setting them on fire in a bath tub. Firefighters were sent to the home to extinguish the blaze.
Police said they had to evacuate three children, ages 10, 9 and 3, from the apartment because of the fire. It was not immediately known whose children they were.
Mangum is charged with first-degree attempted murder for communicating a threat because she allegedly told Walker in front of officers, "I'm going to stab you [expletive]!"

Something like that. Burning the clothes in the car was from Waiting to Exhale. I can only assume that some women feel they have the right to destroy a man’s property if he’s unfaithful. That’s why I really liked the portrayal of the wife by Jennifer Connelly in He’s Just Not That Into You. She neatly folds his clothes and puts them on the steps (but indoors, not accessible to theft) with a note. If you want a man out of your life, there’s no need to destroy his property and ability to go to work, etc.
And this Mangum chick isn’t married to the guy is she? The stabbing part is just her special additional gift to the dude. I’m thinking she’s proven what she’s all about mentally, if people didn’t already get it with the “Rape” case.

Oh, she’s locked up now. And all the race hustlers like Jesse and Al and the NAACP who were backing her to the hilt in 2006 and 2007 will be NOWHERE to be found now that she truly needs them. She’s outlived her usefulness to them, and is just another crack ho.
There’s a lot of schadenfreude flying around today (God knows I’ve been guilty of flinging my share and will probably continue to do so) but it really is sad how this woman has destroyed her life and is well on her way to destroying the lives of those three kids.
