Liberals, historians aghast at History Channel's Kennedy mini-series
The Newsroom/Yahoo ^ | 2-18-10 | Brett Michael Dykes

In a 2007 New Yorker profile, "24" co-creator and executive producer Joel Surnow is portrayed as an unabashed conservative: He smokes cigars with Rush Limbaugh, can "hardly think" of Ronald Reagan without "breaking into tears," and believed that "America [was] in its glory days" under President Bush. For being a right-leaning power player flourishing in a bastion of liberal politics, Surnow is understandably revered in conservative circles. And, naturally, he's ruffled feathers on the left.

Now he's producing a miniseries for the History Channel about the Kennedys, the closest thing the Democratic Party has to royalty, and historians - as well as a liberal documentary filmmaker - are up in arms.

Wow, the truth about the vile Kennedy criminal clan?

Can’t have that, can we?

If it isn’t BS, revisionist “history”, the commies always become “aghast”. Of course, that’s always better than them becoming flabbergasted.

Little to no acknowledgment of the Cuban missile crisis, the event viewed by most as the most significant, and perhaps most successful, of the Kennedy presidency.

Kennedy's self-inflicted wound, which he brought about by appearing weak to Russia. Glory days, indeed, for the Kennedys.

Well the dead can’t sue ya’. Wonder if this is coming out now since Teddy bit the dust. I was working at the Air Guard (secretarial) at the time, and I remember the base was on high alert and on tenterhooks during the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Russia was playing footsie with Castro, and it was serious stuff with the base being ready to deploy at a minute’s notice.

The Kennedys were so deeply flawed, you don’t need to make things up about them. Just cover the known facts. The known facts would sink those degenerates.

Nobody is perfect, but Joe and his boys brought imperfection to a new state of the art. No, they were not a Hitler type of degenerate, but they were about as socially unacceptable as men can be when it comes to their women and their children.

There’s the nice pictures of John with little John John and Carolyn. Then you realize how he treated their mother, and you realize how abusive as a father the man truly was.

Joe, John, Robert, Ted... someone once stated that ‘we barely knew you, with regard to at least one of you. Sad fact is, we knew you all too well. Men of your caliber should be kept out of the public eye.

Go do your stuff on the sly. Let us try to raise up our kids without your flawed examples.

Kinda makes a person wonder if Castro was thinking of trying to plant a Manchurian candidate in politics as revenge from way back then.

“the closest thing the Democratic Party has to royalty”

We need to crush this un-American desire for Royalty among the Dems and RINOS in this country. If they want Royalty they should give up their Citizenship and immigrate to Spain, England or some other European country.

Russia was playing footsie with Castro, and it was serious stuff with the base being ready to deploy at a minute’s notice.

With Castro and Guevara looking to take control of the missiles and launch them, starting WW3. The REAL reason Khruschev took the missiles out of Cuba. Khruschev was himself a butcher, but even he could see that those two were nuts. And the left still fawns over Castro and Che.
