It is a dirty little secret of the modern "intellectual class" that they are in truth more ideological than intellectual. Their desire to control and own trumps any desire for either comprehension or explanation to people they consider socially inferior.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel: properly Progressive American intellectuals are becoming more like the British peerage every year; the more they inbreed, the stupider they become. And appear.

Instead: please give me the common sense and plain-spoken wisdom of a tradesman, a rancher, a beat cop, or a fisherman. Even we corporate cubicle-mongers might have a thing or two to teach our luminous culturati. Not that they'd listen.
