CPAC embraces the new Mitt Romney (HUGE BARF ALERT)

When Mitt Romney, candidate for president, came to the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2007, he was a fresh-faced over-eager student of Republican politics: He won cheers for a newfound social conservatism, and won a straw poll amid charges hed packed the hall.
Romney ended his candidacy in an emotional speech to CPAC the next year, and in 2009 he used the forum to open a critique of President Barack Obama that he spent the next year refining. The new Romney, received Thursday as the favorite son at the gathering of conservative activists, is a more constant, seasoned, and comfortable figure, one whose applause lines match up more closely with his record, and whose protégé Senator Scott Brown is his partys hottest star.
His fundamental weakness in 2008 was his seeming discomfort in his public skin. Hes more at ease now, though part of his past his role in reforming health care in Massachusetts while he was governor could still raise questions about his real political identity. But his aides believe hes successfully cast himself as a mature political figure, and the adult among potential Republican challengers to Obama in 2012.
In 2008, people had this perception of Mitt Romney as this kid sitting in the front of the classroom with his hand up, said Gary Marx, a conservative adviser to Romneys 08 campaign. Now hes taking a low key approach picking and choosing his spots to make his voice heard, and its worked very well for him. I think youve seen the full embrace of the conservative movement from Governor Romney.

Take it from a Massachusetts resident: Mitt Romney is a Socialist in RINO cloth. He DESTROYED first-class health care in Massachusetts with his buddy Ted Kennedy’s Health Insurance Tax, a full-on socialist program that has ruined the quality and cost of health care in this state.
He also allowed GAY MARRIAGE and did not defer TO THE PEOPLE of Massachusetts because we would have struck that crap down.

I don’t want Bush Jr. I want someone with genuine conservative vision and constitutional values! I know Sarah is apparently inexperienced(by state-run media standards) But she is the only one with a true conservative vision like Reagan. I like guys like Hunter and Tancredo, but they have no traction. We desperately need a gamechanger, now. Not just some retooled Bob Dole, George Bush, John McCain. Right Now Palin is the only one in my sights. Go SarahPac!

The Huckster might give Romney a run as he could conceivably pick up all the Southern states.

This is the most complimentary article about a Republican or CPAC speaker that I can remember. The one certainty was that anyone who spoke at CPAC would immediately be attacked by the MSM. Can someone please explain what is going on here. Please go light on the conspiracy theories and heavy on the facts.

Listening to a great line-up on C-SPAN 2 right now...just heard a great speech from Steve King, now hearing from U.S. Senate candidate Michael Williams from Texas, and CPAC has Mike Pence and Michelle Bachmann scheduled next. Tune in...

I’d say he has more business experience than most politicians in Washington. He has my full support.

And we all thank you for President Obamas 2nd term. Get real. The last time I heard that kind of logic, we got stuck with a liberal(GWB) who so poisoned the electorate that we ended up with Obama. Why don't you get real and understand that many of us are just as done with RINOs as we are with liberals. I won't vote for Romney, just like I won't vote for any other unctuous liberal.

The "new" Mitt Romney?
How does that work? Does ol' Mitt have one of those fancy obama "Reset" buttons attached to his forehead now?
Is the "New" Mitt Romney more, or less, of a RINO than the "old" Mitt Romney.
Did that Rap Star "Bluesky" slap some sense into Romney, or did he slap some sense out of Romney.
Is the "new" Mitt Romney only because he's attached himself to Scott Brown's coattail?
Other than get elected, and change the balance of power, what exactly has Scott Brown done that is so wonderful?
Hell, obama did exactly the same thing, got elected and changed the balance of power...and look what we have with him.
Is the "new" Mitt planning a Cosmo fold-out? Perhaps he and Brown will do one together.
Are we falling into the liberal/progressive trap and voting for someone based on glamour, personaity, and good hair, or are we voting on the issues?
Neither of these people are staunch conservatives, and I don't think they have what it takes to make the very hard choices that it's going to take to untangle obama's slinky.
Juan McCain't is in trouble in Arizona for being a RINO, and Romney and Brown are his "buds"...putting 2 and 2 together, equals nothing but the same ol' liberal appeasers.
Yes, I'm glad Brown go elected just to shake up the obamites, but it as the PEOPLE who made the choice to send the obama administration a message, Brown is only the messenger.
It doesn't matter who CPAC embraces, if no one embraces CPAC.
