Does the NJ (Repub) Gov appoint his successor until a special election is held?

This guy is the worst anti-gunowner in Congress.

No successor if he does not step down. This is a Democrat, so he will not. I mean, they had a Senator unable to communicate after having a stroke and he still managed to vote.

The Democrat still plans to finish out his current term – his fifth in the Senate – and seek re-election in 2014

Lautenberg is the poster child for term limits if ever I saw one. These loony left old geezers are worse than the politburo of the Soviet Union.

Fox just said it’s lymphoma, with a different prognosis.

I wonder if he’s strong enough to handle the chemo. Prayers up.

Cancer statistics include all cases, even people who go to quacks. His chances are much better at Mt. Sinai.

They are saying it's totally curable.

At his age, the Chemo will be brutal and require a lot of down time.

He should retire and enjoy his remaining years.

My prayers are for his soul. I hate to see people choose to donate their souls to fuel the fires of hell. It would be nice if he’d see the light and choose to serve God.

Wait, I thought he fell, or had an ulcer. Now it is “curable” stomach cancer.

Hmmm ...

When Lautenberg ran back in 82, he said 74 year old Fenwick was too old to be in office. Now he says that age has nothing to do with the requirements for being a Senator.

In that respect I agree with you. However, I am confident that this won’t happen. He committed his soul to evil long ago.

I pray he receives precisely the same degree of medical care that he and his fellow Democrats supported — in their recent health care bills — for the average American citizen of the same age as the Senator ... and not one additional drop of morphine.

He is only 86 years old. His best senatorial years are still ahead of him.

I hope all turns out well for him. I know someone who had esophageal cancer and had 7 rounds of chemo every three weeks and they were 45 at the time and healthy other than cancer. It took its toll. Very, very tough one. I cannot imagine being any older than 50-ish, enduring the chemo and going back to normal .. not so fast anyway. The toll is took on the 45 year old meant it was literally a year long process including recovery - and even after that year the volume of toxic chemo they received caused some long-term ‘chemo brain’. It's tough. I think the picture the doctors give to patients on the front-side of chemo and what it actually is in the middle of it are two different things.

Absolutely, rest already.

It cannot be fun attending Georgetown cocktail parties while on chemo.
