My name is Andrea Fay Friedman. I was born with Down syndrome. I played the role of Ellen on the "Extra Large Medium" episode of Family Guy that was broadcast on Valentine's day. Although they gave me red hair on the show, I am really a blonde. I also wore a red wig for my role in " Smudge" but I was a blonde in "Life Goes On". I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny. I think the word is "sarcasm". In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes.

I don’t believe this woman has down syndrome at all..The way she talks about Sarah Palin, reminds me of the typical liberal crap talk
“The way she talks about Sarah Palin, reminds me of the typical liberal crap talk”
Kinda says something about libs...hehe
Ok NOW I know who she is. She also played on the show 7th Heaven. She seemed like a nice girl. I don’t believe for a second that she wrote that email, especially the line about Sarah carrying Trig around like french bread. Funny, where have I heard that before..from Joy Behar..someone else wrote this for her
She has got it alright. I think she should be showing respect to Trig because they have the same rare anomoly.
The best response conservatives can make is to NOT watch the show. I will admit I did watch it until they began to blaspheme Christ and make fun of Christians. I did not see this latest episode and plan to never watch this piece of societal garbage again.
So in essence, her argument is that I (supposedly) have a disease, that I am holier-than-thou and that you should follow me..is that it?
If this is true, it makes it worse: It means Mr. McFarland took advantage of a Down Syndrome adult to mock and abuse a Down Syndrome infant in the name of partisan politics. That’s down there with what Senator John Edwards or Michael Vick did. Sickening! I wouldn’t blame Todd Palin if he did something about this, if you get my drift.
If this works for her, fine. If Sarah Palin wants her son to have a chance to grow up as normally as possible, that is her right, too, and this woman ought to respect it.
Not everyone’s sense of humor is the same, just look at Alfranken.
Blonde just about covers it...
The fact they exploited a mentally challenged woman TO INSULT THE MENTALLY CHALLENGED somehow excuses it?
Am I missing something here, or is this an email from a cartoon character?
SOS! They can call conservatives and their children “retards” and other horrifying things. We can’t.
I just can't believe the New York Times printed this crap.
Oh wait, maybe I can.
I used to watch Family Guy..but I have stopped watching it. What they did on Sunday was the last straw for me. I wasn’t a regular viewer, but now I have stopped watching it altogether. I only watch South Park now, at least that show makes fun of BOTH sides and its actually funny. When they had the Dancing With Smurfs episode, and mocked both Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, it was funny. Even Glenn was laughing and showed it on his show, and Wendy playing the role of Sarah with the “Going Rogue with The Smurfs” CLASSIC stuff. That is why I like South Park, they make fun of both sides and actually make the skits funny
As you can nbow see, there are the “good” (liberal) Downs Syndrome people and the “bad” (conservatives’ kids) Downs Syndrome people.
Trig is not a “real” Downs Syndrome person.
Also, if you mock Governor Palin’s child for being “retarded” it’s ok if you use a downs Syndrome actress to do it.
Whether or not the actress has any meanness toward Governor Palin, the show was being mean to Trigg Palin. That should be obvious.
Imagine your child having a disability and so in a comedy show they feature your kid with a disability, like that’s funny?
