Sarah Palin's attack on the "Family Guy" TV show and its portrayal of a young woman with Down syndrome has backfired, to a degree.
The actress who did the voice-over for the young woman has hit back at Palin.
From CNN News:
Andrea Fay Friedman, the actress who herself has Down syndrome, said the scene was merely meant to be sarcastic. "I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor," she said in an e-mail to the New York Times. "I thought the line 'I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska' was very funny. I think the word is 'sarcasm.' In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life

I think Palin made a mistake, why even dignify Family Guy with a response?
Duh. Not all humor is good or funny. Get a clue.
Yael T. Abouhalkah, king of the left-wing loons!
LOL at this chick thinking that skit on Family Guy was “Funny” I saw it, it was NOT funny..it was stupid and Andrea still does not get how she was not just mocking Sarah, she was mocking herself
Ready, Fire, Aim
Is this dude smoking hashish???
I am inclined to agree with that statement.....only brings her down.
Paraphrasing an old expression.....Never have an argument with an idiot....those watching may not know the difference.
The actress doesn’t even realize she is being exploited.
I totally agree.
That was my first thought, too. Seth McFarland lives to make people uncomfortable with his gross humor. In that he isn’t even remarkable. What is remarkable is how many people apparently watch his shows. I tried to like his stuff, but find it mostly sophomoric (when most mature) and insulting. My idea is simply to avoid him and all his works. I just wish my son would stop quoting him so much.
South Park was right on the money about Family Guy. I’ve never LOLed at that show... I’ve probably only watched 2 episodes all the way through.
“I think Palin made a mistake, why even dignify Family Guy with a response?”
I said this from the beginning. Or she should have damned them with faint praise.
No, Andrea, making a political jab at a one year old’s expense is not funny. Think about that as you cash your paycheck.
oh sure.
Or 'Never Wrestle With a Pig'. You only get dirty, and besides, the pig enjoys it.
Palin may well put defending her family above all else, and I don’t blame her. She should probably make a public statement about respecting the tradition in America about keeping children, especially, young children, out of the line of fire. Then, she can stop responding to each one.
This Family Guy schtick attacking her baby is not funny in the slightest, and the endless personal jabs at her children is despicable.
Good god who the hell cares!
