Allahpundit earlier today linked to the latest Palingates attack on Palin, dealing with the Family Guy kerfuffle. Like everyone else (including, it seems from today's coverage, the entire MSM), I never saw the episode so I wasn't really able to comment on it. Well, I just did. And I kinda wished I didn't.
Want to know why? Just take a look at this transcript of a song which occurs around the 20 minute mark in which the Down's Syndrome girl is described as, among other things, "a special person's wettest dream" and a "little whore". Funny, no? Hysterical. Makes you wonder why Gov. Palin didn't laugh about it, really. I mean, where's her sense of humor?

I’ll go along with what happened provided they do the same thing to liberal and Democrat families .... they won’t do it and it’ll never happen ... all sorts of screaming and yelling would happen and ... and ... and ...
If you favor killing babies and raising taxes you can make fun of anyone you want to. Just ask Al Gore, Barack Obama, and Rahm Emanuel.

Not even *my* sick sense of humor extends to Family Guy, which I find to be overly gratuitous and lame. Not that the creator or writers would care.
It would be interesting to learn the precise demographics for many shows. I think this one wants all the people who adore Don Imus and Howard Stern.

(Not to mention the many gratuitous slams at Sarah’s daughters such as David Letterman saying Sarah’s 16 yr old dau was knocked up by a baseball player)
It is easy for some on FR to say let it go no big deal.
No other candidate has had their children attacked during 2008 and continuing.

No one is talking about making a law against freedom of speech.
There are still standards of decency. Just because a person can legally say something, doesn't mean that it is RIGHT.

In the old days when America was a just and righteous nation, people who spoke like that would be publicly shamed if not physically assaulted. No self respecting business owner would serve them or do business with them. Shame would rightly be brought upon anyone who associated with them including their relatives. Back then it was easier because men were men. They would not stand by and watch the weakest among us be mocked and made fun of. Back then they did not have pussies like you to defend people who would victimize the most innocent people on earth.
That’s offensive and filthy. Did this young woman really understand these words? Where were her parents? Good grief.
My point was not to support what they did, but rather defend their right to do it. I watched it when it was on, and I cringed. I usually have a pretty warped sense of humor, but this was not only insensitive, but it wasn’t even funny. We changed the channel.
I think that just as they have the right to put it on the air, I also exercised my right to change the channel. It was the only exercise I got that night.
Probably not. Its heartbreaking and enraging.

And how are your comments different than calling someone a retard, or faggot?
I usually expect the knuckle draggers to come out any time Palin’s name is printed on this site. They usually have more class than you.

No where in my sickest moments, could I imagine saying, writing or even thinking such perverse crap as the lyrics you just posted.
I think it should be a requirement that anyone broadcasting the statement from the DS actress that was released earlier today be made to also have the accompanying words read aloud.
That should end once abd for all any attempt to contend that this stuff is “humor.”
