YERINGTON, Nev. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is calling for the cancellation of a Nevada school's donkey basketball fundraiser, saying it teaches students cruelty to animals.
PETA has posted an action alert on its Web site asking supporters to contact Lyon County School School District Superintendent Caroline McIntosh and urge her to cancel the March 1 event at Yerington High School.
PETA contends that donkeys ridden by players in the offbeat games are often dragged, kicked, or hit by stray balls, and are sometimes seriously injured in falls.

ALERT. ALERT. ALERT. PETA ALERT. ALERT.
Lol! Maybe a petting zoo, carnival, circus?
Now these are the real deal nut case Eco-terrorists.
mmm roasted donkey
Here’s a better idea. Make ribbons quoting lies from Sen. Harry Reid, attach them to pins and then let the kids play “Pin The Tale On The (Democrat) Donkey”.
Maybe not as fun for the older kids but it will make a more valid point.
I had chicken, ham and eggs for diner tonight.
That’s so stupid animals like serving the one who feeds them.
Nevermind. My mistake.
I do wish I was in charge at this school, PETA would hear it all from me!
Then serve the kiddies animal crackers....
Oh yes...another organization made up of people with way too much time on their hands.
Instead of urging the superintendent to cancel the event, people should be recruited to show up for the event en masse...basically telling PETA to go to he!!.
Hey PETA, forget the donkeys.
You know India’s `sacred’ Brahmin cows? Well, we ship them over here to
rodeos, cinch up their nuts real tight, then cowboys put the spurs to them. Yeehaaa!
Donkeys got it easy.
You can't hurt a donkey unless you REALLY try, hard.
They are tough little rascals, and very unlike horses. They will not do something that may hurt them. They will not work beyond their strength. And they are masters at passive resistance.
They will also bite or kick if somebody mistreats them. Perfectly capable of looking after themselves without the intervention of PETA.
If I were involved in this stunt, I would make sure I had an ample supply of Mrs. Pasture's Cookies for Horses concealed on my person. Most donkeys are perfectly willing to cooperate if they see that there's something in it for them.
Maybe PETA should consider stop supportingshalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
the genocide of black children.
Pain In The Ass
Looks to me as if the donkeys are doing OK. It’s all the players falling off who must be hurting.
