The old phrase from the HillaryCare fiasco still applies.

"If you think healthcare is expensive now, just wait until it's 'free'."

***vital to a functioning insurance system.****

Actuarial science is not taught in the Ivy Leagues. The brilliant intellectuals in government have no appreciation of how insurance works.

How many auto insurance companies would issue a policy to fix damage that has already occurred?

Life & Health Insurance company products/reserves were so well constructed that for the better part of the 20th century, banks borrowed from them.

Says the page has gone AWOL. But I've read it. It's only blocked until 2011 and then goes into effect. We have a year to get it repealed. It's not fair or right to treat our retired Military like this. They'll need a third insurance to cover what TFL and Medicare will no longer cover.

We had our 6 month check ups (because of the meds we take) and a new sign was up in our doc's office, that IF Medicare was your only health ins, then you had to pay the difference UP FRONT before the doctor's visit. I can't blame the doctor, the re-imbursment barely covers his overhead cost. And they are talking about dropping it from 80% to 60%.

“Premiums in New York are now the highest in the nation by some measures, with individual health coverage costing about $9,000 a year on average. And nearly one in seven New Yorkers still lacks health coverage, a greater proportion than before the law was passed.”

I pay over $12,000 a year for my family and I would rather pay that than have any more government involvement.
It is a joke. What they don;t tell you is that every dollar that has anything to do with health care in new york is taxed at 9%.

Ambulance ride, they tax.
Get an aspirin at the hospital 9%
major surgery, they get 9%
Doctors visit 9%

They are what is driving up the costs. But they complain that insurance companies are making far too much money. The insurance company makes anywhere from 1.5 - 3% profit from premiums.
