A lot of people like to look at it as individuals saying or doing things, but these individual belong to groups, and in this case, the foreign policy groups, or schools, or doctrines dis-agree.

This doesn't mean everyone in the group is going to agree with everyone else in the group on any or all particular issues.

So, Realist Bob Gates and Realist Brent Scowcroft may have disagreements over Iran, but nothing like the disagreement either of them would have with NeoCon Cheney or NeoCon Wolfowitz.

So, let me give you a little quiz.

Name that member of Obama's Cabinet who is a Realist who worked for both Brzezinski under Carter and Scowcroft under GHW Bush.

Name that Republican Realist who served as Reagan's Ambassador to Israel and Obama's Envoy to Hamas.

Let’s see, um, Powell, the Realist, was the point man for W, the Neo-Con, at the UN selling the war in Iraq!?! Have I got that right?
