Newly-seated Republican Sen. Scott Brown (Mass.) on Monday joined Democrats in voting to end debate on their $15 billion jobs bill.

Brown crossed the aisle after Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) nixed an $85 billion, bipartisan plan in favor of a more narrowly-focused bill.

I always love when I open a thread and see some people predictably act stupidly.

He’s a REPUBLICAN FROM MA! What the hell do you expect from him?!!

Stop crying. Stop whining. Stop claiming he betrayed us and blah blah blah. He did not. He acted like a MA Republican would do. This is why we don’t run MA Republicans for President. ::coughing Romney:::

I want one thing from him and only one thing. To not be a vote on those “health” care proposals. That is what he ran on and that is what he better hold to. Anything else is between him and his constituents and they can vote him out in 3 years if they don’t like him I don’t really care. I won’t be helping his re-election. This was a special circumstance last month. Now we’re back to only supporting conservatives for election because we don’t need anymore Liberals to block a crucial vote.

“I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington,”

Yeah, it will Scott. AS LONG AS YOU VOTE THEIR WAY!

that’s not fair. He wasn’t vague about the spending thing. He said he would vote no on spending. This was totally unexpected, and rightfully so.

It didn't take long before Scott Brown betrayed his so-called principles.

When we were challenging his supposed Conservative credentials, and saying that under no circumstances would we have voted FOR Scott Brown, how many Freepers called us on the carpet and tried to tell us that Scott Brown was a "genuine conservative"?

We really caught a lot of hell for not jumping on the Scott Brown bandwagon, didn't we? As it turns out, he will likely be worse for the Republican Party than his opponent, since now the Democrats will have "bipartisan" cover for their shenanigans.

As I have consistently said, you cannot trust any politician who is pro-choice. They have no soul. Those who turn their backs on innocent life will turn their backs on everyone and everything.

Yeah, but at least he takes a better nudie picture than Lincoln Chafee. That’s all that really matters.

That certainly seemed to be the deciding factor for many FReepers who think he "looks presidential," whatever the hell that means.

“In addition to the Social Security tax break, the surviving bill would still renew highway programs through December, deposit $20 billion in the highway trust fund and extend a tax break for small businesses buying new equipment.”

What are you opposed to in this bill?

“Can we get our donation back? What a disappointment he’s turning out to be.”

He’s from MASSACHUSETTS. You expected what, Jim Demint? Tom Coburn?

Why in hell do people on FR throw a fit every time an Independent turns out not to be a hardcore conservative in everything they say and do?

Some do but many as you know don't. Many here see thru the Crists the Schwengiggers types. ONLY if the people continue an outgoing effort in a very heavy way, we will we not have a health care bill.

Wonder what his mentor, John McCain had to say.

He'd say, "That's my boy!".

Then he'd pat Senator Graham on the head and whisper "My other boy, Lindsay."

But Brown has expressed a willingness to work with Democrats on other issues.

So, where's the Brown for Prez crowd tonight?

I agree with you.
Republicans Voinovich (Ohio), Collins (Maine), and Snowe (Maine)
also voted with the democrats.
Where is the outrage for them?

I'm satisfied that I didn't donate because I didn't know where he stood.
It turns out he played Americans for suckers. He said all the right things to get power.
I hope he enjoys his single term.
