Seems like we often do not trust many of today’s politicians when they say they’ve changed their positions. Mitt Romney and his change on abortion comes to mind.
I don’t trust Romney in the least. But comparing flipper to the guy carved on Mt. Rushmore is not a worthwhile endeavor.
You don’t give an inch. I get it.
But like Churchill, you cannot judge TR on a single wild hair phase of his career and label his legacy as some have done. For starters, the BM party did not win and faded into obscurity, but TR did not. The BM was started in 1912. By 1914 TR had said: "The public at large had gotten tired of all of us reformers and especially of me"
