No, I made a normative statement that the government should have no say because there is no basis to persecute or give benefits to homosexuals.
I think it does when that same Govt or courts gets and has got involved telling me that they have special hate laws, they have marriage, adoption , teaching in schools, getting jobs like affirmative action
And it should not be doing any of those things. I am for getting government out of a lot of things it is already doing, much less support more government. Post #167 explains in two sentences exactly who the government should and should not benefit and why and who pays for it. And it makes no reference to religious, aethetic or subjective beliefs. That is why it is the most powerful argument. It just doesn't have the knee-jerk emotional appeal.
