WASHINGTON, DC, February 22, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A new health care bill proposed by President Obama Monday threatens to expand abortion even more drastically than the health care bills stymied in Congress over the past several months, says the National Right to Life Committee.
The White House is threatening to ram the proposal through the Senate on a 51-vote majority using a tactic known as budget reconciliation. The process circumvents the need for a filibuster-proof 60-vote majority by placing the health care overhaul under the heading of a "budget" bill.
"Any member of Congress who votes for the final legislation proposed by President Obama will be voting for direct federal funding of elective abortion through Community Health Centers, and also an array of other pro-abortion federal subsidies and mandates," said NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson in a statement Monday.

I would say a significant number of US Catholic bishops’ true religion is socialism. There were also a fair number of closeted types.

It is too late for US Catholics to finally be demanding accountability and excommunication for Catholic politicians.
You don't lobby your local town to possibly hold a meeting sometime in the future to consider it change its speed ordinance in front of main street, while 51 cars traveling at 80 mph are approaching.

Slightly more on target, true. But there is absolutely no stretch in what I’ve said. CCHD played a major role in putting the Democrats in control, and now we are all going to pay the price (literally) of abortion.
I disagree. Obama's views on abortion and BAIPA (Born Alive Infants Protection Act) were well known. They thought it was "social justice" to elect a man of color, even though he told us what he was going to do all along. Some of the Bishops raised the alarm, but the others just didn't listen. Then, they reacted with shock and alarm when the abortion sections of the healthcare bill became known.
This article is no surprise to me. Many catholics I know when discussing their religion to me are not deep Christians as folks of other faiths. They believe abortion is the right thing, they cling to evolutionism and they are good democrats.

You don’t have to streach at all. The Bishops openly supported Ted Kennedy while giving lip service to the Catholics in the pews. They raise money from the parishes and then work against them with ACORN, the unions and abortion and gay rights groups. More and more Catholics are finding out about this newest scandal.

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.
