WASHINGTON -- In cluded in President Oba ma's latest stab at health-care reform released yesterday is one of the more astonishing admissions of political deception in recent memory.

After months of swearing that his health legislation would lower the skyrocketing costs of insurance premiums, Obama finally acknowledged that actually it would not.

So, instead, he has included a new provision that can simply outlaw premium increases his administration deems "unreasonable and unjustified."

This, in lieu of literally years of promises and proclamations about transforming the American hospital-industrial complex in a way that would drastically lower the cost of medicine in this country and leave insurance companies scrambling to lower the premiums they charge customers.

Is this a joke, or is this for real? If it’s real I fail to understand how he thinks he can pull this off.

Looks like a thinly-disguised attempt at "picking the winners".

I guess capitalism really is dead. Where's the job application to become a "czar"?

More and more I see Obama saying anything he wants. Just lying openly. And knowing that his audience is fully aware that he is lying to them. But not caring.

There is tremendous arrogance here. I think it goes even beyond The Big Lie of Hitler. "I can say anything and get away with it."

And if you think about how the media raked Bush over the coals for his "sixteen words", and how the media simply nods its head at Obama, you can see why he thinks he can lie with impunity.

But November approaches.

It’s called no one said anything when I took over a car manufacturer and replaced the CEO with my handpick, why would anyone say anything if I tell private companies they won’t be “allowed” to increase their prices.

The Republicans have sat back and let themselves be lectured to publically by this wannabe dictator, let his adminstration place PROJIHADI attorneys to PROSECUTE terrorists, etc... so they need to go too.

outlaw premium increases = no private health insurance companies = government healthcare insurance only.

"I fail to understand how he thinks he can pull this off."

Easy Presidential Fiat, edict, and anything else he can get away with, and with willing sycophants in both houses (and both parties) not to mention the current media arm of the administration.

He will accomplish all of this to further transfigure this Republic into a shell of it's former self.

Companies that kiss his a$$ and keep premiums below costs get off-setting tax subsidies that are channeled through so many loopholes no CPA on the planet could trace them. Companies that price to market get put out of business.

The survivors become wards of the state and you now have the public "option" with no vote on it and no real option.

How’s Michelle’s suggestion working out for you? “Surely Americans won’t mind giving up a little so that many can have more.” This is just the tip of the iceberg, folks. They are going to take every dime you have.

Obama and the democrats will do all of this because “they can”, That is why the obamacare monster came back.

They do not fear the people because they have already put so much socialism in place. We the people have allowed it without challenges of any kind.

If they get control of our health, the game is over. They will have total control of our lives.

It will also be a statement that America will no longer exist but in name only.

It will also be suicide for America. it will be death for the old and the infirm.

That is their plan. Controlling lives and getting rid of people.

There really is nothing more to their “plan”. Over 2000 pages of tyranny to get rid of some people and control the rest.

Ok, I'll bite.

What is reasonable and justified? Who decides what is reasonable and justified? An army of govt. bureaucrats?

Scary.

Could be just a sop tossed to his leftist base to show them he is “really trying” to pass Obamacare.

The fact remains, though, that he isn’t short many votes in Congress to get it through in some form.
