Trying to revive languishing health-care legislation, the White House proposed Monday that a tax on high-end health plans be delayed for all workers, not just those in unions, and suggested new taxes to help make up for the lost revenue.
President Barack Obama will carry the proposal, an attempt to bridge differences between bills passed by the House and Senate last year, into a bipartisan meeting with congressional leaders on Thursday, as Democrats try to regain momentum and push their legislation through final passage in Congress.
Republicans are planning to bring their own ideas to the meeting, and aides said last week they are prepared to incorporate Republican proposals into the Democratic plan. But White House officials made clear again Monday that they have no intention of scratching their legislation and starting over, as Republicans are demanding.

Why should Zero back down? He plans to pay for seizing 6% of the nation’s economy/buying illegal immigrants’ votes (once they ram through immigration ‘reform’), by stealing our pension/savings. Taxpayers literally have trillions in their 401K, etc. accounts. Dems plan to take it all ala Social Security. Give us an I.O.U., you get so much a month back when you retire. Heh, Heh, that is if you’re not one of the unlucky ones who meet his death panels. We can probably thank Jesse Jackson for this since he had plans to steal federal pensions some years back to pay for reparations. Dems didn’t get their wish then, but Zero wasn’t in the WH. (People who can are already moving their money to silver and gold.)

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.
