Washington, DC - Service Employees International Union (SEIU) President Andy Stern released the following statement after the release of President Obama's proposal for health reform:

"This Thursday, Congress has an opportunity to break the gridlock that has denied American families the health insurance reform they are so desperately calling for and need."

"This Wednesday, I will be in Washington DC standing with marchers and hundreds of others to remind Congress there is but one choice: pass comprehensive health insurance reform. After more than a year of debate and more than a century of talk but little action, there is no doubt, the time is now."

Direct quote from the SEIU bylaws.

We must organize unorganized Healthcare workers, extending to them the gains of unionism while securing control over the Healthcare industry.

2.2 million members. I wonder if any of them are Americans. Probably not.

It is past time for the truth to be laid out in the open, but we certainly can’t rely on the Lame-stream media to do it for us.

The original Health sCare bill was an awful pile of steaming crap. So Obammy and friends slap a “brand new” plan together supposedly to make it more palatable, yet it was just as big of a pile. They then play the “Republicans are not cooperating”, though they were never allowed at the table in the first place.

All from an administration that promised to be the most open and transparent in history - who promised to have CSPAN cameras in the negotiations - and then locked those same folks out so the backroom deals could be ratcheted up to the most dirty every.

Then Obammy claims that he is going to meet with Republicans and hammer something out. But he then basically pulls the same BS and just tells them what HIS plan is and what WILL be passed, with or without them (unconstitutional reconciliation), again locking the Repubs out of any substantive roll.

What part of all of this actually fits the “transparent” promise, other than it is absolutely transparent that The One is almost as much of a Marxist as Stalin and Lenin...

My heart cries out for the number of Americans who gave their life defending us from the Communists in the 20th Century, for stupid and selfish Americans to then vote in the kind of folks we fought against not-so-long ago...

Joe McCarthy was right!!!!

When we follow the $$ trail we’ll undoubtedly find that SEIU has a direct tap into the Treasury. I’m stocking up on popcorn to watch while this plays out.

Surround-sound.

That’s what we’re aiming for this Wednesday. Imagine Congress inundated with one million phone calls, email messages, blog posts, faxes, social networking updates, and in-person visits to their offices in a single day. Pretty hard to ignore, right?

Our message is clear: Listen to us, not insurance companies - it’s time to finish the job on fixing health care.

The date is set for this Wednesday, February 24th, and we hope you’ll take part. You’ll be joining members of MoveOn, Health Care for America Now! and other groups for this massive, online day-of-action.

Our goal is ambitious - to send, post, and tweet one million messages to Congress that day. Will you sign-up? http://action.seiu.org/march

From New York to California, Texas to North Dakota, we need as many people as possible talking about health reform that day. Can you sign up to join the Virtual March this week? It’s simple to sign up-and when you do, MoveOn will automatically send a fax in your name to your members in Congress. Click the link below. It’ll sign you up and send a fax in your name.

http://action.seiu.org/march

As we march online and on the phones, hundreds of people will also be marching through the streets of Washington to Capitol Hill in honor of Melanie Shouse.[*] Melanie recently lost a long battle with breast cancer after missing out on critical treatment because she, like thousands of others, could not find affordable health insurance.

The sense in Washington is that this is an important week for health care. People will be on the streets, members of Congress will be meeting with the White House, and now, a million voices will surround Washington, calling for the passage of real health reform. We need as many people as possible to sign up for the Virtual March in advance, and then to call Congress on the day of the March.

Can you sign up today? Click here to join the Virtual March:

Let’s march!

Jessica Kutch
Online Campaign Manager
SEIU.org

P.S. You don’t want to march alone! Can you also forward this email to a few friends and colleagues? The more people involved on Wednesday, the stronger our message to Congress.

SEIU is a Union for people who could not get Government jobs even after the standards were lowered for affirmative action hires.

They do the jobs someone has to do, but dont take brain surgeons to do them.

Stern jumped right in with this group of IQ lacking dolts and fast became their leader. As slow witted people are easy to lead. Most of these people if they were not working in menial jobs for the government would be part of the entitlement class that Obama’s socialist plans need to gain their foothold on destroying Democracy.

I don’t mean to sound elitist, but the fact is that they are using these dolts, and their votes, to destroy America.

Unfortunately, it is not hyperbole. Healthcare has been a major tenant of the progressive movement (appropriate term, huh) since the beginning of the Twentieth Century.

“”more than a century of talk
This dolt wouldn’t stoop to hyperbole would he?””

I’ve heard this so much, it’s really sickening. I wish someone would press those repeating that nonsense to tell us exactly which administration and congress worked on this for the past 100 years. They get away with what they get away with because people aren’t listening. An interviewer can ask a question, appear interested in the answer then go right on to another question. No followup! You know from personal experience that the interviewer hasn’t heard one word of the first answer.

Since you seem to believe that healthcare reform has been on the agenda for a CENTURY, perhaps you can tell us what administration/congress/years this kind of finagling and discussions took place. We all remember the Clinton boondoggle - who else and when? And to what extent? I’ve been around for 73 years, paying attention for at least 55 of those years and it apparently slipped by me.

Those calls to action are simply a cover.

What will show up, as usual, are paid SEIU workers, on buses paid for by the unions, carrying signs printed by the union, chanting slogans bullhorned by union organizers.

Authentic grass roots, yes indeed. And the media will eat it up, shoot from angles to make the crowd appear larger, and generally tell the world that "the American people have spoken!"

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

Snip

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Bambi doesn't keep his promises...so buyer beware.

This is just one example. Woodrow Wilson and the Progressive movement via the Labor Movement were big proponents of universal health care. Teddy Roosevelt and Health care

Yes, this goes back even before your time. I would recommend Bill Bennet's excellent book America, the Last Best Hope" for a better treatment.
