The Obama Administration’s Health Care Proposal (no detail, can't score)
Congressional Budget Office ^ | February 22 | Staff

Posted on 02/23/2010 6:47:55 AM PST by PghBaldy

This morning the Obama Administration released a description of its health care proposal, and CBO has already received several requests to provide a cost estimate for that proposal. We had not previously received the proposal, and we have just begun the process of reviewing it—a process that will take some time, given the complexity of the issues involved. Although the proposal reflects many elements that were included in the health care bills passed by the House and the Senate last year, it modifies many of those elements and also includes new ones. Moreover, preparing a cost estimate requires very detailed specifications of numerous provisions, and the materials that were released this morning do not provide sufficient detail on all of the provisions. Therefore, CBO cannot provide a cost estimate for the proposal without additional detail, and, even if such detail were provided, analyzing the proposal would be a time-consuming process that could not be completed this week.

This should be getting more play- we can't know what this will cost, contrary to news reports...

The Bamster has all positive labor actions frozen. Frozen until the uncertainty about the future costs to small and large businesses is clear. He's now back on the ‘Reform’ kick which will just make it worse and more threatening to businesses of all kinds. Hey, Bamster, stop trying to reform, remake or change the basics, listen to the people who have history behind them, history that proves major tax reductions and incentives work every time. Shut-up, listen, reduce taxes, stop threatening, and get out of the way. I hear Hawaii calling you (again), please take an extended vacation (and take Her and O’Reilly with you. O'Reilly is your friend)

Here is what I am afraid is going to happen:

1) Hannity keeps repeating the the CBO is the “gold standard,” and without its blessing we can’t pass the bill.

2) The CBO says it “saves money.”

3) Obama, his position now stronger, holds a press conference.

4) The bill passes.

If I hear “the gold standard” applied to the CBO one more time, it will make me more nauseous than I was.

Obama put a price tag on it of 950 billion himself. Imagine the REAL cost?
Then I saw that he backed up many of the dates to 2019.

Is he far reach9ng or what?

I am wondering if this can be stopped now or not. It seems that no matter what our will is, how hard we fight, how loud we scream, they are going to push this through anyway.

Then we go to the USSC because the whole deal is unconstitutional anyway.
