Voters still strongly oppose the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats and think Congress should focus instead on smaller bills that address problems individually rather than a comprehensive plan.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 41% of voters favor the proposed health care plan, while 56% oppose it. Those figures include 45% who strongly oppose the plan and just 23% who strongly favor it.
Support for and opposition to the plan are at the same levels theyve been at since just after Thanksgiving.
Democrats continue to strongly support the health care plan much while it is opposed by Republicans and voters not affiliated with either major party. Seventy percent (70%) of the Political Class strongly favor the plan, while 57% of Mainstream voters strongly oppose it.
Sixty-three percent (63%) of all voters say a better strategy to reform the health care system would be to pass smaller bills that address problems individually. Twenty-seven percent (27%) still think passing a comprehensive bill that covers all aspects of the health care system is a better idea. Eleven percent (11%) are undecided.
Sixty-five percent (65%) of those who strongly support the presidents plan favor a comprehensive approach, while 85% of those who strongly oppose the current plan say smaller, individually-focused bills are a better way to go.
Earlier this month, just after the president called for a bipartisan summit meeting to get his health care reform plan back on track, 61% of voters said Congress should scrap that plan and start all over again.
The latest findings, from a survey Sunday and Monday nights, come as the president prepares to convene the nationally televised summit meeting on Thursday.

41% “favor”????
There's a significant percentage of this country who would favor "his plan" even if it was just a tissue he blew his nose in.
“41% favor????”
I would be willing to be that a significant portion of these think they are going to get everything that is available now, but that they won’t have to pay for it.
What is the "political class"? The clowns in Congress?
and 95% have no idea what’s actually in the Bill..
Agreed
They're called Gimmees
We The People will be using our option in November.
I crack up when the interview Dems. who claim that 65% or perople want Health Care reform. What they don’t want to hear is that people don’t want Obama’s or their health Care Reform. Hell, I would like to see some reform that will reduce costs, but that isn’t in any of the Dem. bills.
41% favor????
a small unfortunate group who are having issues with pre-existing conditions, plus a whole lot of dunderheads who think their health care is gonna be FREE.
Do you think any of them have even pulled it up on their computer?
This poll shows just how stupid 41% of those polled are. How can a person support something they have not seen or read?
Where did that come from it has been around 31-35% for a long time.
Not sure if I believe that one..
There should be a better poll going into detail the intensity of those protesting.
It would be interesting to see what the results would be as to how far America will go to protest this forced socialized health plan.
“How can a person support something they have not seen or read?”
(a) by being a senator or representative
(b) by getting warm & fuzzies from CBS about it
That 41% didn’t read the fine print. All they hear is stuff like “they can’t turn you away because of a pre-existing condition. I guess we could also include the illegals and the rest of the uninsured who are going to get it for free off of the backs of the rest of us.
+++ 41% “favor”??
The public pensions who need a “steal-care” bailout, on the backs of everyone else.
What do you think happens with these “random” surveys? The probability of that phone answer on the other end approx. 50% a govt. employee (or even higher connected to govt. contracts). Now how do you think they’d respond?
They're too dumb to know what's good for them.
The real debate is about expanding the powers of government over the lives of citizens.
"Health care," or "health insurance" is just a Trojan Horse for gaining and accumulating that power. The health care industry reaches into every facet of American business and into every home in the country. Give the imperfect men and women who call themselves Senators, Congressmen, and Executives in Washington the power to control all of that, and you no longer have the free society envisioned by America's Declaration of Independence and severely limited government intended by the Constitution.
It is late. Paul Revere needs to ride.
As they say in hoops, Zero.... REJECTED.
