Boehner: GOP will 'crash' WH 'infomercial' on healthcare reform
The Hill ^ | February 23, 2010 | Molly Hooper

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) told his colleagues on Tuesday that Republicans plan to attend the president’s high-profile healthcare summit this week in order to "crash the party."

According to a House GOP leadership aide familiar with the top-ranking Republican’s remarks at the weekly closed-door conference meeting, Boehner appealed to skeptical Republican lawmakers, saying, “We shouldn’t let the White House have a six-hour taxpayer-funded infomercial on ObamaCare. We need to show up. We need to crash the party.”

Following the private hourlong breakfast meeting, Boehner acknowledged to reporters that House Republicans have not officially accepted the president’s invitation.

Boehner explained that leaders are waiting for a response from White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to a letter they sent earlier this month that asked a series of questions on the bipartisan summit.

“It’s our intent to be there on Thursday. We’re waiting on a response and we’re hopeful that we’ll receive one soon," Boehner explained.

I see a chance for bipartisianship on one issue. Exorcising the WH of Rahmbo.

Some RATS want Rahm gone. The REPUBS are waiting for a reply from Rahm. It doesn’t come or is the written equivalent of the finger and the REPUBs don’t go. Zero does his informercial on Thursday and after blasting REPUBs adds that maybe Rahm should have replied. Rahm’s gone.

Bipartisan cooperation actually works for something useful.

I hope Boehner takes advantage of this opportunity to make clear what a farce this is. To be visibily annoyed at the suggestion that this is a somehow bipartisan effort or in any way an item supported by the majority of Americans.

I’ve contended that he is the reason for early Dhimmi retirements of-late.

Probably a ballet accident.

Some RATS want Rahm gone.

Then, by all means, he should be strongly encouraged to stay. The more damage he does to the dems the better.

If Boehner really imagines that Obama plans to allow any Republicans to actually talk the the cameras, he’s smoking something. They’re just there as background for the One.

Rahm sliced off part of his middle finger working at an Arby’s; didn’t go get treated, but went swimming. The finger got infected and was partially amputated.

So far I’ve called for a boycott of the infomercial. But this wording from Boehner is intriguing. I’d like to hear what he had in mind. It could be *very* interesting and effective.

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

Snip

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Bambi doesn't keep his promises...so buyer beware.
