Gunfire heard from major shootout in Miguel Aleman
ESCOBARES - Roma police are on high alert, after reports of a major shootout in Miguel Aleman. Thats the Mexican city directly across the border from Roma.
Police units are stationed at the international bridge to prevent any potential spillover of violence.
Witnesses on the U.S. side of the border are telling CHANNEL 5 NEWS they can hear the gunfire. Roma police are working to confirm these reports.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS has confirmed a major shootout happened last night about two miles outside Ciudad Camargo. Thats across from Rio Grande City.
In the past week, we've also tracked shootouts in Matamoros, Reynosa, Guerrero, and Nuevo Laredo. The situation is intensifying up and down the South Texas border.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS sources are telling us its extremely volatile and extremely dangerous in Mexico right now. We're going to continue following this story and bring you the very latest developments.
Ah, the Roma police, all two of them??? Truth be known, those guys have to be in a state of perpetual alert on the border.

Well then Swinney, hold the line, when I cruised that brush country, there was only a handfull of us, amazing. Stay safe (seems hollow but sincerely said...).
Roma, where there are so many new cars, pickups and SUV’s owned by so many people with no visible means of support.
