What was an 11 year old girl doing walking alone in that area? In this day & time, I would not let a young girl be alone any place out of sight. Even when I walk my five year old granddaughter in this very small town, I carry a large hiking stick.
Its a heavily immigrant Hispanic neighborhood; overwhelmingly the majority of people who live there. I lived a quarter mile from there 30 yrs ago and it was half Cuban even back then. Now I would say its Hispanics of all stripes.
Same here. When I walk with my granddaughters I carry my "Cromach" -- a heavy, knob-ended, chest-tall Scottish walking and fighting staff (backed up by my HK P7M8...)
