There doesn't appear to be any love lost between the two candidates who faced off for the presidency in 2008.
Taking his turn to speak at this morning's historic bipartisan summit on health care reform, Sen. John McCain launched into a spirited attack on President Obama and the Democrats in Congress. He cited "unsavory" deals made by Democratic leadership in the Senate, argued that Obama had broken his promise to have previous health care negotiations live on C-Span and called on President Obama to "start over."
President Obama didn't take kindly to McCain's attack, saying bluntly to McCain "We're not campaigning anymore. The election is over."
Chuckling, McCain responded "I'm reminded of that every day."
Obama tried to move the conversation back to the policy discussion at hand, saying "We can spend the remainder of the time with our respective talking points going back and forth, [but] we were supposed to be talking about insurance."
Today's bipartisan summit is in many ways a direct response from the White House to previous criticisms similar to McCain's. President Obama proposed a bill this week that did not include some of the deals that made the Senate bill so unpopular and the White House hopes that today's debate will aleviate voter concerns about a lack of transparency in the process.

So is your presidency, O Great and Powerful Obamahole.
From the puke who never stops campaigning.
That was an a-hole move. Can you imagine Bush saying that to Sen. Kerry or Professor-at-Large Gore?

Sometimes I can’t help but like Big Mac...he really can push the Messiah’s buttons, when he wants.
Mr. Obama, your mandate is over. Animal Farm is over.
Good for McCain!
We’re only so far removed from McCain getting his head lopped off by the Emperor for daring to challenge his supreme authority.
This whole episode has made me sick to my stomach.
McCain IS campaigning for his seat.
Really?! I thought they were supposed to be talking about "health care"...but it's really about insurance? That really is better if it were because things could be improved with tweaks instead of the massive government take over of the entire industry.
He does not have 60 Democrats in the Sebate, for which I continue to thank Scott Brown. With 41 votes in the Senate, lots of stuff can be stopped. That may well include Obamacare, threats of reconciliation notwithstanding.
Tell me another joke, McStain is playing to conservatives because he’s running scared in his re-election bid. This is nothing new, we’ve seen this crap every time he wants another term. If McCain had shown the kind of go-for-the-gut-punch during the campaign (and anytime he wants to screw over conservatives) that he appeared to be showing in this little interlude, he might be sitting in the White House as President right now and we would all be praying for health issues to force him to resign so Vice President Sarah Palin could be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States.
What a small child Barry is.
Make that 45th President. My bad.
Real slick -- be personally insulting to somebody whose vote you might need.
lol.
What a little punk that guy is.
Arrogant prick.
Hey, Zero, are you that thickheaded? The election that’s over is over. It’s irrelevant.
But the election that’s on right now, the one where you are getting your hat handed to you
and
you
don’t
even
know
it.
Can anyone be so stupid?
On Healthcare, McCain has been a lion. So, let’s give credit where credit is due.
