Excerpt Snips:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- With a 21% cut to Medicare reimbursement rates set to take effect Monday, the nation's largest physician organization has informed its members about their options -- which include shutting off practices to new Medicare patients.

In the meantime, physicians are asking the AMA to prepare handouts they can give patients to prepare them for the worst-case scenario: getting dropped completely. And a new report on the AMA's Web site tells doctors how they can help their patients find other doctors if they decide to no longer accept Medicare.

Throw in the $500 billion in Medicare cuts from the 0bama H/C plan and seniors might as well just die at 65.

Obama should listen to the public and start all over again to solve healthcare problems with common sense, instead of trying to dictate.

Around Christmas time there was an article where the Mayo-Clinic in Arizona said they were dropping all their Medicare patients. That meant all the elderly who are there as snow birds.

I have long thought that the REAL way to reduce health care costs would be to scrap all insurance and government entitlements, and let people pay the bill themselves. Unthinkable? Perhaps. It would be a shock to the system. But a lot of the BS that keeps the system so bloated and expensive would shake out real fast. And, you would have to do tort reform at the same time.

Looks like the AMA has finally given up on ObamaCare. They are now merely saying what everyone knows and many others have been saying: Medicare can be cut no further, it is already unsustainable for doctors to take on Medicare patients. They cannot work for less than cost.

Don’t expect AARP to join in, but I’m quite sure the elderly are getting the message.

I think their plan was to remove that half trillion from the Medicare budget to make the whole health care plan look budget neutral to shut up those complaining about the deficit, and then sneak that half trillion back in on the other side. But they screwed that up and now Medicare cuts which are supposed to be automatic but are waived every year will probably go into effect.

CNN is (of course) COMPLETELY LYING.

The AMA is NOT threatening a boycott of Medicare. The AMA simply notified its members of the 21% cut and explained options, including a March deadline for formally leaving Medicare.

You got it, except for this small change in wording:

but they want are beginning in earnest to starve the health care from seasoned citizens?

Noting: Very few doctors will cover senior citizens and this will be without government death panel mandate - thereby dems/Obama can blame it on capitalism and greedy doctors.

I have long thought that the REAL way to reduce health care costs would be to scrap all insurance and government entitlements, and let people pay the bill themselves.
I have a h/c plan with no monthly premium and I pay the first $1200 for all medical costs including prescriptions.
After I reach $1200, the plan pays 80%, then, once my out of pocket costs reach $3600 the plan pays 100%.
I think that's reasonable.

I think this was part of the plan to make sure reimbursement cratered so that Obamacare would be adopted to save the day.

"seniors might as well just die at 65"

Well, that ought to help rectify the massive unfunded liability in the Social Security Ponzi Sche....er....System.

Sixty years ago, the private sector addressed medical issues.

Since then LBJ's Medicare program came along and caused this ...

If people paid the bill themselves, they would scrutinize every line item on the bill. None of the BS that gets heaped on now would pass muster. Of course, as a result, hospitals would have to cut staff and stop treating people for free.
