..... The IOC wants to investigate unseemly celebratory behavior? By hockey players? How amusing. I don’t care what gender they are, hockey players are different from other people. They do not delicately sip from champagne flutes with extended pinky fingers while poking at the canape tray with tiny toothpicks and discussing stock portfolios. That’s for figure skaters and ice dancers. Hockey player celebrate by prying the caps off their beer bottles with their teeth, chugging them down, and lighting up big cigars. They throw their gloves in the air. They are loud, boisterous, and jubilant in the flush of a great victory. That’s who they are. If the IOC disfavor such behavior, then perhaps they shouldn’t be hosting hockey as an olympic sport.

Congratulations to the Canadian women’s hockey team on their true grit gold medal win. The girls definitely came to play.

Senator: as a hockey player and referee, I can only say, "well done, sir." You are 100% spot on with your comments.

pburgh01: You're an ass. The vast majority (VAST!) of female hockey players I know, are most certainly NOT lesbians. Additionally, you seem upset that a group of amateur hockey players play the game in an "amateurish" manner. Hmmm. Finally, I can say without question that my 18y.o. goalie son and his travel hockey team would have their hands VERY full playing these girls...especially when you consider that there is no checking.
