It's like giving a pistol to an arrogant, petulant 6 year old who's pissed as hell about being sent to his room.
That’s the problem I had with it all along. I was fine with it in Bush’s hands, but I feared the next guy. Now, I don’t think they’ll ever give it up no matter who’s in charge. We could go 20 years without even a peep out of a terrorist and they’d still be renewing this.
Since then, I’ve come to the position that I am against ALL expansion of federal power, no matter who is in charge. The government is the most fickle of bed partners. It can change radically on a dime and giving something like that more power is a fool’s errand.
