More evidence of the collapse of civilization.
I have a friend who is a teacher. She told me last year, in her class, she had six students with different spellings of the same first name. One “yoot” told her “You forgot the apostrophe.”
I type the clinical records for a pediatric doc’s office. I am fascinated by the monikers some of these kids have. One day there were 3 Dakota’s, each one spelled differently.
Another trend I am noticing is the hyphenated last name. No longer does the paternal last name stand alone. The mother, not to be diminished, has given the kid her last name, too.
In my opinion, we are already solidly entrenched in a narcissistic culture....all a result of the ‘Me...Me...Me..’ mantra of the 70’s and 80’s.
Parents seem to have no clue that how they name their babies potentially gives prospective employers a lot of information on how that child was raised.
