Alternative remedies at risk with McCain's dietary supplement regulatory bill: 101
Examiner, DC ^ | February 26, 2010 | Deborah Oakes

lternative remedies such as natural health supplements using vitamins and herbs, natural herbal remedies and holistic treatment are at risk...Senator John McCain proposed The Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA ), February 4, 2010, to put the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) in charge of regulating natural health supplements. Alternative remedies are protected because they are classified as food. However, the new bill reduces potency a product with 1/2 carrot's worth beta carotene for example and provides a list of acceptable ingredients.

This is the same FDA that allows dangerous prescription drugs on the market with long lists of side-effects. Watch any commercial on television that has 15 seconds on therapeutic effects of the drug and 45 seconds on side-effects including 4-hour erections and “sudden death.”

The new bill even requires minor adverse effects from natural health supplements to be reported which is believed opens the door of harassment and allowing the FDA to pull products from shelves they deem appropriate. “A dietary supplement which contains a new dietary ingredient shall be deemed adulterated under section 402(f) unless there is a history of use or other evidence of safety.”

This wording means new ingredients can be squashed. The difference between regulation of drugs and natural health supplements is astounding. What is suggested is drugs are safe and food is not. If alternative remedies are to be protected, many feel this bill needs to be stopped...

When aspertine came along, some asserted that it caused health problems. The fed/guv said yes that’s right, but it doesn’t affect enough taxpayers to warrent pulling it off the market$.

The danger of compact fluorescent lighting

Snips: I know I’m not the only one. I’ve talked to others who have similar problems and there have been some reports about CFLs increasing migrants, depression, and worsening symptoms in diseases such as Lupus. Traditionally healers, such as Barbara Ann Brennan, have long advised to never do healing work under fluorescence lighting of any kind to avoid making yourself ill. These lights drain our energy and especially for us in a healing profession this can be very dangerous.

Studies have also show that children do much better under normal lighting. From Earthwatch - Compact Fluorescents vs. Full Spectrum Bulbs

As Dr. Havas states -
Compact fluorescent lights (CFL) produce radio wave frequencies. These frequencies radiate directly from the bulbs and go on the electrical wiring in the home or school causing poor power quality or dirty electricity. The closer you sit to the bulb the greater your exposure. Because the high frequencies travel along the wire you can be exposed in other rooms of your home as well as the room that contains the CFL.

Also new research has come to light that indicates that CFLs emit a high humming sound that is not in our range of hearing but is in the range of hearing of cats and dogs. Can you image hearing a high pitched humming sound all day long. It would be enough to drive you nuts! Many pet owners report that their cats or dogs do not want to be in rooms with CFL bulbs on and will become anxious if they are forced to be.

Calls to the fools in DC 24/7 are in order. I would love to see the fools in DC shove the curly flight bulbs up their Elitist rears.

I could swear but can’t prove that when I worked under many of those during the day - I felt dizzy and somewhat sick feeling. But when I went home that would disappear.

I certainly don’t want them in my house - the kitchen I have now has them, but I don’t use that since the dining room is right next to kitchen and over sink has regular light bulbs - thankfully!!
